Evan Ehrhardt ('18) and Elizabeth Kim ('20) have won National Medals in the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. 

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards dates back to 1923. Over the years, the Awards have grown to become the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S., and the nation’s largest source of scholarships for creative young artists and writers. 

National Medalists represent less than 1% of the nearly 350,000 submitted works of art and writing. Nearly 20,000 submissions received regional Gold Keys and 3,300 medals were awarded at the national level. 

• Kim won a National Silver Medal for her painting Tracks. 
• Ehrhardt won a National Silver Medal for his short story Her Name Was Rebecca When You Met Her. 
• Ehrhardt won a National Gold Medal in the humor writing category for Larry Dreams of Pound Cake: A Mockumentary.

Winners are invited to a national recognition ceremony at New York City's Carnegie Hall in June. Gold Medalists will have their works displayed in the National Exhibition at Parsons School of Design at the New School and Pratt Institute's Pratt Manhattan Gallery between June 1-10.
