Internal Substitute Teacher (Full-Time)
The Internal Substitute supports the academic program at Cary Academy by providing instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher and maintaining a positive classroom environment that promotes student learning. While class coverage is a priority, the Internal Substitute also performs administrative tasks to support Middle and Upper School operations as time allows.
Cary Academy seeks a Language Arts teacher (8th grade) in our Middle School to work alongside a dynamic group of educators dedicated to serving the unique needs of middle school students. Cary Academy faculty work within a professional culture of self-reflection, growth, and a passionate pursuit of our mission.
SCOPE This armed (with previous police force experience) Campus Safety Officer’s role is to patrol 65 acres of land to include the perimeter of the campus, the interior of eight buildings, and the athletic complex to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Collaborates with the Campus Safety Manager to monitor the activities taking place on grounds, communicating pertinent information such as security breaches and threats to the Campus Safety Manager and the Director of Campus Operations.
Cleans and sanitizes buildings, furnishings, equipment, and vehicles. Provides event setup and breakdown support for both internal and external campus activities and events. Assists with other campus operations needs as assigned. Supports the Campus Operations Division in ensuring that all campus facilities are maintained in a safe and clean condition at all times; works closely with other members of the CA community to ensure that facilities remain available for school events and activities as needed.
WORK SCHEDULE is Monday – Friday, 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (occasional weekends as necessary) JOB SUMMARY: Cleans & sanitizes buildings, furnishings, equipment, and vehicles. Provides event setup & breakdown support for both internal & external campus activities & events. Assists with other campus operations needs as assigned. Supports Campus Operations in ensuring that all campus facilities are maintained in a safe & clean condition at all times; works closely with other members of the CA community to ensure that facilities remain available for school events & activities as needed.
Serves as Middle School divisional support person responsible for providing varied office and program assistance and spot duty as a class substitute or duty supervisor. Maintains confidentiality. Works with students, parents, faculty and staff.
Serve as the coordinator for the school’s student travel and transportation needs, be the main point of contact for visitors in the Administration building, and provide general administrative support to the Director and Associate Director of Campus Operations.
