On Saturday, April 25th from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Middle School Field, 7th grade students will be hosting a festival to celebrate newcomers (immigrants, refugees, migrant farm workers) to our community. The celebration will be the culminating event for our interdisciplinary project, Migration Collaboration.
This student-organized event will be an opportunity for our entire CA community (students, faculty, staff, and parents) to commune with our community partners (USCRI, Lutheran Services Carolinas, Transplanting Traditions, Episcopal Farmworkers Ministry, and Student Action for Farmworkers) and their clients through food, music, sports, arts & crafts, and story-telling.
There will be food to share, food to buy to support our community partners, story booths with recorded voices and personal stories of recent immigrants and refugees, and art and sports activities.
Please feel free to bring food for the pot-luck portion and bring some cash for the food stands and food truck!
