At the recent NCISAA championship meet for track and field, the CA girls finished as state runners-up, while the CA boys came in third.

Making All-State are:

• Emily Lane – 800m, New School Record – 2:17.14
• Sarah Bodmer – 3200m and 1600m, New School Record in latter at 5:00.90
• Dorrit Eisenbeis, Emily Lane, Olivia Frazier, Sarah Bodmer – 4x800m Relay, New State Record, New School Record, 2017 NC #1 All Schools/All Classifications/NCHSAA/NCISAA – 9:25.92
• Christian Sodano – Pole Vault
• Coleman Mitchell, Tommy Bright, Chase Coley, Ray Faison – 4x800m Relay, New State Record, New School Record – 7:54.26
