Strong showing for Science Olympiad team at Duke
On Saturday, January 18, twenty-five Cary Academy students competed at the Second Annual Duke Invitational for Science Olympiad. CA’s team competed with 33 top schools from North Carolina, Virginia, and New York. CA chess players crowned champions
Four CA chess players (Xavier deSouza’21, Marvin Koonce ’21, Rohan Sachdev’20, and David White ’20) took first place at the Triangle Chess K-12 Team vs. Team Chess Tournament, held Sunday at Green Hope High School. The competition was open to teams and individuals from all over Wake County, with nearly 150 competitors attending.

Congratulations to Carly Lupton-Smith ’16, who was named a Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-American on December 3. In November, she was named Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2019.
